Job Overview

We are looking to hire a part-time assistant to manage and update our Social Media platforms and Website. Primarily, we are looking for someone who loves writing and who is passionate about helping others. A background in social media management is a plus.

The Valentine Project, a charitable non-profit, cultivates compassion year-round while spreading love, hope, and joy to children affected by pediatric cancer or chronic illness and their families.

Ideal candidate:


  • Passionate about The Valentine Project’s mission statement

  • Excellent in written and oral English

  • Have experience with maintaining social media accounts and website (WordPress)

  • Creative (basic graphic design)

  • Responsive

  • Be a creative problem solver and at the same time follow instructions to the details when required

  • Attention to specific use of language & colors (years of listening & learning have informed the choice of language we use. For example, we never say “sick” or “illness” when referring to the children,  but rather “chronic disease”)

 

Responsibilities include but not limited to:


  • Keep website up to date on activity and successes that are visually appealing (WordPress)

  • Add relevant content to website as needed

  • Create content, post/populate & manage Facebook, Instagram, and Twitter

  • Increase followers on all platforms; engage and build relationships with followers

  • Track content engagement metrics and report metrics so we can tweak to optimize

 

What we offer


  • Part time with flexible hours (20 hours a week)

  • Work from home

  • $3-$4 USD/hour
