Podcast Editor/Manager

We are an established real estate investing podcast with over 230 episodes and are hiring an editor/manager to help grow the show, manage the content, and communicate with guests. We publish a new episode every Tuesday.

Conversational English proficiency is required, as the editor will be reading text submitted by the guest and using it as a base for writing episode descriptions. The editor will also need to pick up on valuable exchanges in each episode and mark them for highlight clips.

We record the podcast using Zoom and have a video and audio file. In the rare case of of technical glitches during recording, the editor will need to identify the subject being talked about and edit the conversation to seamlessly continue the conversation in a way that does not distract the listener.

SUMMARY

Podcast editing


  • Edit the rough audio file (trimming, minimal fixes, correcting volume levels between host and guest).

Episode publishing


  • Upload and schedule the podcast episode through Libsyn

  • Write an episode and guest description based on information provided by the guest

  • Post embedded podcast player, episode description, and transcript to podcast website (Wordpress).

Content creation


  • Snip 30 sec highlight clips for distribution to Instagram and LinkedIn (video and audio versions as required)

  • Post highlight clips to various social media channels to drive traffic to the podcast (includes writing provoking text to accompany the image and/or clip)

  • Create and post impactful quote images to promote episode on social channels

  • Create episode art

Guest communication


  • Coordinate with guests to ensure photo and bio are submitted before recording date.

  • Inform guests a week prior to release to encourage sharing to their database

  • Follow up with guests after podcast episode is published to help promotion and sharing

 

QUALIFICATIONS:


  • Conversational proficiency in reading and writing English

  • Experience in editing podcast audio files

  • Ability to dissect content and pull out impactful moments

  • Intermediate graphic design skills
